Optional Proficiency test  CBSE 10th 2014

The Optional Proficiency test for Class 10th Students of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will start from 14th April 2014 till 18th April 2014. The Optional Proficiency test is based on the syllabus of Class IX and Class X and it is based on concept application questions.After the end of final exams, the Optional Proficiency Test  being conducted nation-wide which bring about a centralized benchmark of subject understanding. Participating students will be able to estimate their knowledge of  subjects as different than the students in different boards. The results will also focus as feedback to Schools regarding teaching standard and understandings. Students appearing in this test will receive certificates from CBSE on the percentile ranks basis.
Paper Pattern
The examination is offline pen and paper based and compiling of multiple choice questions. Each subject will have maximum 100 marks and a 2 ½ hours duration. Negative marking is also applicable. The test is based on Class IX and Class X syllabus. It will   focus on skills, abilities and understanding of subjects based questions. Questions will be styled on observing, comparing, classifying, solving, translating, interpreting, analyzing, synthesizing, creating, composing, deducing, justifying and judging/evaluating methods of question solving.

Exam Dates
English: 14th April, 2014
Mathematics: 15th April 2014
Science: 16th April 2014
Social Science: 17th April 2014        
Hindi: 18th April 2014

Students can apply for the Optional Proficiency Test through their schools.
Registration Fees for 1 Subject is Rs. 300/-, for 2 Subject is Rs. 400/-, for 3 Subject is Rs. 500/- and for 4 or 5 Subjects is Rs. 600/-.
