UK student visa: How to apply-
VISA application for UK (student) steps to follow when apply for a visa to the
UK.
Step 1
Apply for visa from India by visiting
the UK government website for visa and immigration.
Step 2
Students can apply for a visa 3 months
prior to the date of travel to the UK.
Please do not confirm your travel arrangements till you receive your
visa. See the visa processing time page to know how long it takes to process
your visa.
You should arrange for supporting
documents for your visa application. Please find out the documents required if
you do not know.
Step 3
You must book and attend an appointment
at the visa application centres situated in major cities of India. Visa applicants
must book an appointment prior to submission; walk in applicants will not be
entertained.
Step 4
Please reach 15 minutes before your
appointment time, and should carry your appointment letter and application pack
and your passport.
As long as the visa filling process is
complete, you will be issued with an acknowledgement receipt. You must hold
onto this receipt because you will need to collect your documents.
Important note: Please remember that you cannot submit any
documents after your application has been submitted at the visa application
centre. Documents that you’ve submitted at the time of your application are the
ones that will be considered.
Step 5
You will need to submit your
fingerprints and photograph (also known as biometric information collection) at
the visa centre. This includes a digital finger scan (all 10 digits) and a
digital photograph. The fingertips must be free from any forms of decoration
(henna, stickers), cuts or markings as it may affect your ability to provide
acceptable finger scans. Your digital photograph must show your complete face,
without sunglasses or tinted spectacles, no head covering ( unless for
religious or medical reasons). Also hair or any other item should not fall over
your face or cover it. Visa cannot be processed unless you submit your
biometric information.
Step 6
You can either collect your documents in
person at the visa application centre or have them delivered to you by post.
