The Ford Motor Company (aka Ford) is an American multinational automaker headquartered in suburb of Detroit (Dearborn, Michigan). Henry Ford founded and incorporated the company on 16th June,1903. Automobiles and commercial vehicles are sold under the Ford brand luxury cars are sold under the Lincoln brand. The Ford company also owns Australian performance car manufacturer- FPV and a Brazilian SUV manufacturer, Troller. Ford owns a a 15% stake in Aston Martin of the United Kingdom,2.1% stake in Mazda of Japan, and a whooping 49% stake in China. in Jiangling. It also has a number of joint-ventures, two in China (Ford Lio Ho and Changan Ford Mazda), one in Thailand (AutoAlliance Thailand), one in Russia (Ford Sollers) and lastly one in Turkey (Ford Otosan). Ford is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and Forbes describes it is as "the most important industrial company in the history of the United States."Ford World Headquarters is in Dearborn, Michigan, USA, known as the Glass House. The Ford company is a Public company and owners are Ford Family, they have 2% stake in the equity. It has 181,000 (2013) total employees working in the company. The shares of this company is traded in NYSE stock exchange (S&P 500 Component). It is founded on 16th June 1903 by Henry Ford and now it has world wide operations. At present Mr. William C. Henry Ford made his first attempt at a car company under his own name and that was the Henry Ford Company on November 3, 1901, that later on on August 22, 1902 became the Cadillac Motor Company . After that Ford was left with the rights to his name. Then the Ford Motor Company was launched in a converted factory in 1903 with just $28,000 in cash from twelve investors, main investors were John and Horace Dodge, who later went on to own a company of their own. During its early years, the company produced just a few cars a day at its factory. Groups consisting of two or three men worked on each car, assembling it from parts that were made mostly by supplier companies contracting for Ford.
A 39 year old, Henry Ford founded the Ford Motor Company, which went on to become one of the world's largest and most profitable companies. It also was able to survive the Great Depression. It is one of the largest family-controlled companies in the world, the Ford Motor Company was in continuous control of Ford family for over 100 years, but they have minority ownership.
In the year 1886, the first modern automobile was created by a German inventor Carl Benz( Benz Patent- Motorwagen), it was made more affordable for the middle-class. Ford also contributed to this by introducing the first assemble line in the year 1913.
