'Carrying Message of Peace' Nawaz Sharif Arrives India For Narendra Modi's Swearing in ceremony Today. Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Afghan President Hamid Karzai have also arrived.
This ceremony is the first of its kind in India. There will be almost 4000 names in the guest list. Amitabh Bachchan Gujarat's brand Ambassador, Lata Mangeshkar, Rajnikant, Salman Khan are the few invitees in the ceremony. Modi is the only Vegetarian Prime Minister in the World so there would be spread of vegetarian items specially Gujarati vegetarian snacks served to the guests.
The presence of foreign leaders like Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa with high threat perception at Narendra Modi's swearing in called for a massive scale-up in security.
The National Security Guard (NSG) and Delhi Police with the Central Reserve Police Force are the main agencies in charge of security arrangements. Around 10,000 personnel are being deployed for the security of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Raisina Hill, the Lutyens' Delhi area, including the houses the Rashtrapati Bhavan and other nearby key government buildings, will be sealed off for five hours before the function.
There will also be top-notch security at 5 premium hotels where the VIPs will be staying. Sharif will be staying at Taj Mansingh and Rajapaksha will be at Taj Palace New Delhi. "Delhi Police is taking charge for the security arrangements at these hotels.
Sources said that Congress Chief Sonia with her son Rahul would attend the ceremony. Also it is noted that the Jayalalita, Mamta Banerjee and Navin Patnaik will keep away from the grand ceremonial function.
